DURING GRADY FUNERALRockford – Rockford business houses were closed Tuesday afternoon to pay tribute to one of the oldest residents, Henry Grady, 85, who died at the home of his son, Roy, Saturday night and whose funeral was held at the Methodist Church Tuesday.
Mr. Grady was born October 10, 1851, in Owen Sound, Canada. When he was 10 years old he moved with his parents to Morrison, Illinois, and five years later he came with his brother, Robert, to Iowa in a covered wagon.
On March 31, 1879, he was married to Nathalia Dawson.
He is survived by two sons, Roy and Harry. Mr. Grady served as director of the Farmers Exchange Company and was also a director of the Rockford Brick and Tile Company.
