Miss Trevett died Monday morning at a hospital in Mason City, where she had been taken following a fall in which she broke her hip. The mishap occurred Saturday morning as she emerged from the office of the Home Oil & Gas Company, where she had gone on an errand. She was taken to the hospital Saturday afternoon. She underwent an operation at 9:30 Monday morning, for the purpose of setting the broken bone.

She was born in Cerro Gordo County, near Nora Springs, Aug. 30, 1860, daughter of Frank C. and Elizabeth B. Trevett, according to an obituary written by her own hand and left for surviving relatives. She lacked only 9 days of reaching her 84th birthday.

In 1871 the family moved to Nora Springs to the house in which Miss Trevett spent the remaining 73 years of her life. She united with the Baptist church as a young girl. She taught in the primary department of the Nora Springs School for 12 years, being forced to resign because of ill health.
