NASHUA, IOWA - Harold J. Kelleher Jr., 74, of Nashua, died at home Monday, September 5, 2005.

He was born September 21, 1930, in Charles City, son of Harold J. and Elda Koehler Kelleher. He married Charlotte Greenwood on June 26, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, and they were later divorced. He married Betty Hahn at First Congregational Church, Nashua, on October 22, 1983.

Mr. Kelleher graduated from Iowa State Teachers High School, Cedar Falls, in 1949, then attended Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, for two years. He served for two years with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a machinist for John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for many years, retiring in 1987.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Terrance (Chae-Sun) Ross of Lawton, Oklahoma, Harold (Judy) Kelleher III and Kendall (Tina) Kelleher, both of Nashua, Randall (Pat) Kelleher of Denver and Warren (Janice) Kelleher of Waukee; four daughters, Kathleen (Wayde) Henry of Charles City, Mildred (Richard) Liddle of Plainfield, and Elda Nargang and Peggy Lane, both of Nashua; two stepsons, David (Carol) Hahn of Chehalis, Wash., and Doug (Cindy) Hahn of Nora Springs; a stepdaughter, Becky (Bill) Schmidt; 39 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; a brother, Myron of Waterloo; and a sister, Karen OConnell of Fredericksburg.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Harris; a stepdaughter, Nancy; a brother, Frances; and a sister, Joann Pearce.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at First Congregational Church, Nashua, with burial in Sunnyside Memory Gardens near Charles City. Military rites will be conducted by Nashua Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6792. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, Nashua, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
