Raymond Putney, Sr., 77, of Charles City, died Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.

Raymond Putney, Sr., was born October 28, 1937, at Charles City, the son of Herman and Clara (Parker) Putney. He received his education at Charles City. On February 2, 1995 he was united in marriage to Mona Rhoads in Waterloo. Raymond was an over the road trucker and part time operator of RST Tree Service. His interests included fishing, hunting and camping. He looked forward to spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Living family members include his wife, Mona Putney of Charles City; three children: Raymond Putney, Jr. of Mason City, Bobbie Jean (Kathy) Parker of Truman, Minnesota, and Samuel (Lindsay) Putney of Charles City; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; four brothers: Jack (Denise) Putney of Minnesota, Gene (Marilyn) Putney of Barnum, Minnesota, Glenn (Sara) Putney of Charles City and Joe (Ellen) Putney of Garner; and two sisters, Linda Behmer of Arizona, and Donna Starkey.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Illeen Michaels and Raynita Putney; two brothers, Herman and James Putney; and a sister, Juanita.
