CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Arlene M. Burdette, 83, of Mount Ayr, Iowa, and formerly of Cedar Falls, died Friday, April 18, 2014.

She was born June 1, 1930, at her grandparents' home in Floyd, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Maurine Brockman. She married Jim Burdette on August 29, 1948, in Waterloo, Iowa.

Arlene and her husband operated the Burdette Buick dealership in Cedar Falls. In 1980 the couple moved to Mount Ayr to tend the family farm.

Survived by her husband; two sons, Michael (Carol) and Jeffrey (Kimberly); a daughter, Linda (David Brown) Burdette; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a sister, JoAnn Winker Hendershot.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Wendell Brockman; and a son, Billy.

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, Mount Ayr, where visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today. A graveside committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Wishard Chapel Community Church and may be mailed to the funeral home at 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr 50854.
