Lawrence Wiliams Died Suddenly of Heart Failure Sunday Morning.

While watching by the sick bed of Joseph Bancroft, Sunday morning at 1:30 o'clock, Lawrence Williams died suddenly of heart failure in the rocking chair where he was sitting. There was no premonition of the death as the man had been in usual health until the moment he was stricken. He and Mrs. Williams returned last Thursday from Marble Rock, where they had pleasantly passed two weeks visiting with relatives, and being at liberty, he was giving special care as night nurse to the aged citizen, when he himself received the summons.

Brief services will be held at his home, 403 East Twelfth street, at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning, conducted by Dr. J. E. Snowden and the G.A.R. post. At 9:50 the remains will be taken to Marble Rock for burial and 1:30 services will be held in the church at that time.

Lawrence Williams was born in Wisconsin, Oct. 14, 1844, and he served in the civil war as a member of the Twentieth Wisconsin Infantry. He came to Cedar Falls about thirty-five years ago and has lived here since. Under the administration of P. Melendy, as mayor, he was city marshal. Besides his wife he is survived by four children, two sons, Robert E. Williams, of this city; Milton of Stillwater, Minn., and two daughters, Mrs. A.G. Brown, of Fargo, N.D., and Mrs. Bertha Smith, of Davenport. Two sisters and four nephews from Cedar Rapids are also here for the funeral. Mr. and Mrs. Will Buttree and Mr. and Mrs. Wright. Other relatives who have come are Miss Millie Losee, Mrs. Charles Shultz and Bert Losee, all of Marble Rock, and also his brother and family. Mr. and Mrs. Lew Felwock and two daughters. - Waterloo Reporter.
