NASHUA, IOWA - Stanley Edwin Bonzer, 80, of Nashua, died Friday, April 22, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center, Mason City.

He born June 24, 1924, on the family farm in Riverton Township, Floyd County, son of Edwin and Mildred Waite Bonzer. He married Irene Litterer on June 10, 1950, in Giard. They divorced in 1974.

Mr. Bonzer graduated from Nashua High School in 1942. He farmed near Nashua, then north of New Hampton and then in Pleasant Grove Township, Floyd County, until 1978. He later worked for the Nashua Co-op and repaired barns with his brother, Gordon. He also served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946.

Survivors include a son, William (Linda) of Rolla, Missouri; two grandsons; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Gordon (Peggy) of Nashua; and a sister, Helen Waidelich of Nashua.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Johns United Church of Christ, Pleasant Hill, rural Nashua, with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, Nashua, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
