ISAIAH OLDFIELD DEAD

Wellman Man Died at His Home Southeast of Town Sunday

Wellman, June 10 - Isaiah Oldfield was born in Washington county, Iowa, November 22, 1858, and died at his home five miles east of town Sunday, June 4, having lived in this community during his entire life.

He was united in marriage to Irene Rickey in 1887 to which union were born two sons, Lyle and Carl, who with their mother, are left to mourn their loss. He and his wife were both for many years active and generous members of the Lexington HM. E. church. He was also a member of the order of Odd Fellows No. 92 of Wellman, and both he and his wife interested workers in the auxiliary, Daughters of Rebekahs.

He was of quiet disposition, a good, honest and reliable citizen. Besides the wife and sons, three brothers, Sam, Will, and John, and three sisters, Lizzie, Mrs. Effie Steiner of Charles City, and Mrs. Chas. Shulty, are left to mourn, besides a host of relatives and friends. The funeral was held from the house Tuesday at 2 p.m. conducted by Reverend Rock of Lexington, assisted by Rev. Smith. Interment in Wellman cemetery.
