CHARLES CITY, IOWA - David “Dave” Below, 72, of Charles City, died Monday, June 2, 2014, at his son’s home in Cedar Rapids.
A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Carl Ries will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Charles City.
Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and at the church on Friday an hour prior to the Mass.

David Lawrence Below was born May 1, 1942, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the son of Edgar and Arlene (Humphry) Below. He graduated from Oshkosh High School. On September 4, 1965, he married Mary Basel at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Oshkosh.
Over the years he worked as a salesman at Schillings and Wonder Bread. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Dave was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.
Living family members include his wife, Mary Below of Charles City; three sons, Paul Below of Cedar Rapids, John (Cherie) Below of Rosendale, Wisc. and Tom (Stacy) Below of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marlene Mayo; a brother, Danny Below in infancy; and a sister, Judy in infancy.
