MRS. FRANTZ, 86, DIES AT HOME
Resident of Mason City 47 Years
Mrs. Alice Rosina Frantz, 86, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ada Haskell, 114 1/2 South Federal avenue early Monday morning following an illness of about a month. She had been a resident of Mason City for the past 47 years.
Mrs. Frantz was born Alice Rosina Ayres, the daughter of Levi and Charlotte Ayres, July 8, 1856 at Shadagree, N.Y. At the age of 4 years she moved with her parents to Rockford and there grew to womanhood. On Oct. 12, 1873, she was married to Peter J. Frantz and to this union six children were born.
Surviving Mrs. Frantz are four sons, C.L., Peter, Clive L., and Otis L. Frantz, all of Mason City, a daughter, Mrs. Haskell, with whom she made her home, two granddaughters, Mrs. Frank Kasik and Genevieve Frantz, Mason City, and three grandsons, Harold W. Haskell, Glendale, Cal., Leslie L. Frantz, Chicago, and Wayne Frantz, Los Angeles, Cal., and five great grandchildren.
Mrs. Frantz was preceded in death by her husband, March 13, 1894, at Rockford, and by one daughter, Edith Frantz, Aug. 28, 1889 and by two brothers, Jim and Ed Ayres.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of the McAuley and Son funeral home at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning with the Rev. Clair Hicks, pastor of the church of Christ of Clear Lake, in charge. Burial will be at Riverside cemetery, Rockford. The McAuley and Son funeral home in charge.
