Obituary
MORGAN A. (JACK) LEGG

Morgan A. (Jack) Legg, son of William Daniel and Sarah Ann Morgan Legg, was born at Williamstown, Mo., Nov. 3, 1897, and died at this home at 37 1/2 Second Avenue, S.E. Oelwein, Friday, June 6, 1952.

He served the Rock island railroad for 36 years as a telegrapher. The last thirteen years he had lived in Oelwein.

Besides his membership in the Presbyterian church, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Elks, the Order of Railroad Telegraphers and the Chamber of Commerce.

Oct. 26, 1917, he married Mary Opal Ethington at Mason City, who, together with their daughter, Maxine, (Mrs. Clair Kraft) of Oelwein, and their son, Jack D. Legg of Strausburg, Colo., survives him. He is also survived by two grandchildren: Karen K. and Alice Ann Kraft of Oelwein, and one brother, George L. Legg of Saffordsville, Kan. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and twin children.

Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian church of Oelwein, with the pastor L.W. Hauter, in charge, Mrs. C. B. Hintz sang "My God and I", accompanied by the organist, Mrs. L.E. Hilsabeck. Casket bearers were. A.J. Bennett, Harold Zeigler, D.E. Schneider, B.F. Sackett, R.D. Noble and Lee Finders. Interment at Rockford cemetery of Rockford, Iowa.
