Lawrence W. Smith 1900-1979

Services for Lawrence W. Smith, 71, of 228 E. Fourth St., will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Kearns-Dykeman Chapel with burial in Hillside Cemetery in Marble Rock. He died at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital.

He was born October 28, 1900, in Dougherty, son of Arthur and Amelia Euker Smith. He married Mable Fleck on November 24, 1930, in Charles Ctty. He was employed in the boning department at Rath Packing Co., retiring in 1962.

Survivors include his wife; three sons Virgil M. of Sandstone, Minnesota, Stanley of Littleton, Colorado, and Robert of Morrison, Colorado; two daughters, Mrs. Harold Vaughn of 3484 Kennedy Lane, and Mrs. Gordon Hutchison of Tucson, Arizona; a sister, Mrs. Eva Toeve of Charles City; and a grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
