CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Charles Whitmarsh, 78, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Readlyn, Iowa, died Thursday, January 2, 2014, at Windsor Nursing & Rehab Center.

He was born December 17, 1935, in Castleton, Illinois, son of Leonard and Margaret Anderson Whitmarsh. He married Bonnie Vining and they later divorced.

Mr. Whitmarsh worked at John Deere and did farm work.

Survived by a son, Jim of Spearfish, South Dakota; a brother, Michael; and a sister, Betty.

Preceded in death by a son, Dale; two sisters, Janice and Loretta; and a brother, Eugene.

Services: burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City. Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, is in charge of arrangements.
