Mary was an avid Bridge player, member of St. Anthony's Circle at the Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and mentor to the Young Mothers' Club.

deeply involved in the community and a great friend to many. She especially loved sewing and quilting, and was a member of regional quilting clubs. Education was extremely important to Mary and through her encouragement, all four of her children graduated from college.
