Georgie Arlene Hicok, 86, of Waverly, died at home Monday, December 14, 2009, from complications of cancer.

She was born November 17, 1923, in Floyd County, daughter of Harvey Lewis and Agnes Jermier Wilson. She married Gerald E. Hicok on April 6, 1947, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. He died July 26, 2006.

Mrs. Hicok and her husband farmed near Ionia for a year, southwest of Charles City for 13 years and then north of Nashua, semi-retiring in the early 1980s. She was a member of Ionia Congregational United Church of Christ.

Survived by three sons, Larry (Sharon) of Rockford, Gaylen (Gloria) of Charles City and Wayne (Carol) of Nashua; two daughters, Geralynn (Raymond) Legel of Waverly and Audrey (Dan) Lechtenberg of Nashua; 11 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Dorothy Chambers of Charles City, Marie (Raymond) Chambers of Charles City and Rose Mary (Lynn) Edson of Ionia.

Preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Eugene Wilson Jr.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Ionia Congregational United Church of Christ, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Nashua. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the church.
