CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Mariene Fransdal, 58, of Charles City, died at here home Sunday, October 29, 1995, of cancer.

Survivors include her husband, Merrill; two sons, Mel of Tucson, Arizona, and Mark of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Marcia Horvath of Denver, Colorado; her mother, Mildred Sather of Estherville; two grandsons; a brother, Edward Sather of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and a sister, Carole Alexander of Santa Rosa, California.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lyle Sather.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, with burial in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, both in Charles City. Friends may call until 9 p.m. today at Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City, with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and a 5 p.m. Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority service. Visitation also an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.

A graduate of Wartburg College in Waverly, Mrs. Fransdal taught in Tama, Estherville, Emmet Consolidated
Schools, Lincoln Central at Gruver, Marble Rock and Charles City. She was president of Phi chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa honorary teachers' sorority.
