CHARLES CITY, IOWA - John Leroy Luttrell, 59, of Mason City, formerly of Charles City, died Tuesday, February 28, 2006, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

He was born May 19, 1946, in rural Nora Springs, son of Archie and Mary Smith Luttrell. On March 7, 1992, he married Beverly "Bev" Eikenberry Mahnesmith at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mason City.

Mr. Luttrell attended North Central High School. He had been employed as a stable manager for Diamond B. Stables in recent years.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Juneal (Alan) Stuva of Waverly and Sarah Nicole Luttrell of Nevada; a son, Josh Montavlo of Georgia; four stepsons, Loren (Barb) Mahnesmith of Nora Springs, Randy, Rob and Rick Mahnesmith, all of Mason City; a stepdaughter, Lynette (DuWayne) Paulsen of Rockford; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 17 step-grandchildren; and two sisters, Judy Jutting and Margaret "Peg" Luttrell, both of Mason City.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Tom.

Services: were 10:30 a.m. today at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, both in Charles City.
