Jon was born April 12, 1971, in Charles City, Iowa, to John and Mary Stange. Jon was the youngest of three boys. He graduated from Rockford High School where he was involved in track, wrestling and football, winning letters in all of them. Jon was a huge fan of the Hawkeyes and Vikings, though he liked all sports, including sprint car races. Jon recently took up fishing.

He served in the Army National Guard from 1989 to 1994, and was a veteran of the Gulf War. He was a CNA for years, a job he was extremely good at. Jon was very appreciative toward others and extremely giving, even in death, as he donated his liver, kidneys, heart valves, tissue and bones to Iowa Donor Network. Jon was always reading and further educating himself.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Stange of Rockford; his dad, John Stange of Texas; his son, Scott Stange; his brothers, Larry (Kozette) Stange of Mason City, and Kenny Stange of Rockford; nieces, Odessa (Michael) Pham, Abebi Stange, Sophia (Venus) Limcheroen; nephew, Samuel (Tina) Stange; Aunt Margret (Don), Uncle Melvin (Mary Lou) McCauley.

Jon was preceded in death by his nephew, David Stange, Uncle Marvin McCauley, grandparents Earl and Lucy McCauley, and Grandmother Lorna Stange.
