CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Cecelia Berding, 92, of Charles City, died Thursday, December 5, 2013, at the Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs, Iowa.
Funeral services for Cecelia Berding will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor Jane Keel of Messiah Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens rural Charles City.
Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and an hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Cecelia Ann Jensen Berding was born December 2, 1921, in Mitchell County, the daughter of Martin and Ethel (Chambers) Jensen. She received her education at Newberry School and Colwell Consolidated School.
On April 13, 1947, she was united in marriage to LeeAnda Berding. They farmed all their lives near Colwell. Cecelia enjoyed flower gardening, animals, reading and crossword puzzles. She always looked forward to spending time with her family.
Living family members include eight children, Martin (Jean) Berding of Charles City, Sue Berding-Bemis of Elgin, S.C., John (Lynette) Berding of Fertile, Aletha Berding-Powell of Charles City, Lynn Berding of Charles City, Jule Pauls of Oregon, Wisc., Helene (Julio) Benitez of Waterloo and Tony (Shelly Olson) Berding of Wood Lake, Minn.; 22 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Bill Jorgensen of Rockwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeeAnda Berding on February 17, 1990; a brother, J.G. Jensen; two brothers-in-law, and four sisters-in-law.
