CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Doris Murray, 79, of Charles City, Iowa, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at the Floyd County Medical Center. Online condolences may be left at www.fullertonfh.com .

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Church, 106 Chapel Lane, Charles City. Reverend Carl Ries and Sister Diana Blong will be officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., with a 4 p.m. Rosary Service and a 6:30 p.m. Scripture Service.

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Doris Murray, 79, of Charles City passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at the Floyd County Medical Center. Online condolences may be left at www.fullertonfh.com.

Doris was born on July 27, 1934, in Charles City to Oscar and Dorothy (Slinger) Gabel. She graduated from Charles City High. She married James Murray on Oct. 4, 1952. This union was blessed with four children.

Doris was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, a former member of the St. Theresa’s Circle, a member of the Elks Club, and many, many card clubs. She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling across the globe. Doris worked for many years at the Salisbury Laboratories, Jefferson Schools, Sisson Insurance, and People’s Insurance, as well as various volunteer activities.

Doris is survived by children: Michael (Meg) Murray and his children: Dennis Murray and Crystal (Mike) Eckhoff; Joanne (Pat) O’Reilly and their children: Niklas (Katie) Neymeyer, Kim (Matt) Burlage, Shawna O’Reilly, Kelly (Ken) O’Reilly-Alber; Lori (Gary) Mehmen and their children: Jesse (Renae) Mehmen, Lyndsay (Nick) Clark, Leah (Tom) Halvorson; Teri (Gary) Pettit and their children: Corey Pettit, Danielle (John) Pettit-Majewski, and 23 Great-Grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Gila (Ron) Jorgensen, and brothers, Jerry Gabel, and John (Patrice) Gabel, and a sister-in-law JoEllen Murray, plus many nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, her parents, and parents-in-law.
