CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Ila Elliott, 91, of Charles City, died Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City, with Pastor Jane Keel of Messiah Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hauser Funeral Home and an hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Ila Elliott, 91, of Charles City, died Wednesday October 23, 2013, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Funeral services for Ila Elliott will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor Jane Keel of Messiah Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and an hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Ila Marie Voelschow Kraninger Elliott was born January 5, 1922, in Delaware County, the daughter of Herman and Ila (Fitsimmons) Voelschow. She graduated from Garfield High School in 1939. On February 6, 1945, she was united in marriage to Roy Kraninger. To this union five children were born. They farmed all of their married lives near Colwell. Roy died on February 11, 1980.

On May 25, 1985, she married Henry Elliott. Henry died on May 28, 1993. Ila was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, quilters of Messiah Lutheran Church and was active participant at the YMCA. She enjoyed traveling, quilting and playing cards.

Living family members include four children, Ronald (Betty) Kraninger of Nora Springs, Margaret "Peggy" Silva of San Antonio, Tex., Garry Kraninger of Independence, and Stan Kraninger of Wilmot, S.D.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren. Ila always had a special place in her heart for the family of Henry Elliott.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; a son, Larry Kraninger; daughter-in-law, Connie Kraninger; and two brothers, Earl and Robert Voelschow.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to Messiah Lutheran Church or Friends of Cancer at first Citizens National Bank.
