Robert Benjamin Woolworth "Wooly" was born October 12, 1934 at Beach, North Dakota, the son of Chauncy Isaac and Lillian Electa (Skelton) Woolworth. He was educated in Charles City graduating from Charles City High School. Bob began working at Oliver Equipment in Charles City before joining the Army. While he served two years in the Army as an Engineer Supply Specialist, Bob earned the sharp shooter medal. When Bob returned home he continued working at Oliver/White Farm Equipment where he was a member of UAW.

On June 29, 1963 he was united in marriage to Anna Mae Lillick at Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in Charles City where they raised their family, and Bob continued his career at Oliver/White Farm Equipment for 39 years and 11 months. He was one month short of 40 years when the company shut down.

Bob was a member of Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church. He gave great "horseback" rides, enjoyed playing solitaire, taking walks, playing with kitties Burt and Gabby, watching the Hawkeyes play, many other baseball, football and basketball games, listening to Rock 'n Roll (especially Elvis), fixing clocks and lawn mowers and drawing scenery and characters. Bob particularly loved going on his Sunday afternoon drives, even sometimes Saturday, to look at the car lots with Scott.
