MRS C D LOPER PASSES AWAY
Dies of Heart Trouble at the Farm Home in Riverton
Yesterday morning at 8 o'clock Mrs. Eliza D Loper, much respected and beloved wife of C D Loper of Riverton died from heart trouble super induced by enlargement of the liver.
Eliza D. LaValle was born in September of 1825 in the town of Summit, Schoharria County, New York. She was married to C D Loper at Summit in 1846. Mr Loper was at that time a farmer. From Summit the migrated to Ripon, Wis., in 1846 coming to Floyd County in 1866. They became host and hostess at the Ferguson house on the west side later moving to a farm in Pleasant Grove where they resided for a number of years. Subsequently the took up residence in the city to again buy a farm-- the Riverton place where Mrs. Loper passed away.
Of the union six children were born, three living as follows; Mrs. Carter residence near Nashua, Adelbert of Elma and Leroy of this city.
Mr. Loper has been seriously ill but since Friday last, death claiming a good woman suddenly. Old resident here Mrs. and Mrs. Loper have many friends and all these sincerely sympathize with Mr. Loper in th loss of a 53 year companion who was always true, kind and cheerful in her home. Mrs. Loper was of the Baptist faith.
The funeral service will be tomorrow (Thursday) at 10:30 o'clock from the home in Riverton.
