Phyllis M. Thompson dies at 76

Phyllis M. Thompson age 76 of Nashua died Tuesday morning at Cedar Health in Charles City.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua with interment in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City.

Phyllis M. Cagley Thompson

NASHUA, IOWA - Phyllis May Thompson, 76, of Nashua, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at Cedar Health, Charles City.

She was born July 31, 1935, near Nashua in rural Chickasaw County, daughter of Ernest and Ella Fisher Cagley. She married Neal Thompson on Dec. 18, 1955, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

Mrs. Thompson graduated from Nashua High School in 1953. She worked as a waitress, a cook, a stay-at-home mother and at the stock car races at the fairgrounds. She was a member of the Little Brown Church.

Survived by: her husband of Ionia; four daughters, Elizabeth Kasemeier (Ron Jensen) of Cresco, Susan (Alvin) Klink of Marble Rock, Peggy (Paul) High of North Washington and Dawn (Michael) Estre of Cypress, Texas; a son, Neal Allen of Ionia; 25 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; a brother, Rolland (Marlys) Cagley of Nashua; and two sisters, Patricia Dietz of Nashua and Sharon (Gene) Keeling of Waverly.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Glenn Cagley.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, with burial in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City. Visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, Nashua, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
