Annette C. Barr 83, of Mercedes, Texas, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Aug. 10, 2013 at Weslaco Nursing Home, Weslaco, Texas.

A Memorial Service is being held at Llano Grande Park in Mercedes, Texas Aug. 21, 2013.

Annette was born July 11, 1930 in rural Charles City, Iowa to Elmer and Jannett Baldwin. She received her education in Charles City High School. On March 15, 1948 Annette and Roland E. Barr were united in marriage in Nashua, Iowa. They made their home in Bassett, Iowa until 1964 when they moved to Charles City. They made their retirement home in Mercedes, Texas. She was a member of the Central Christian Fellowship Church, Weslaco, Texas. Annette retired from Sears in Charles City, Iowa. Her favorite passions were her family, church, knitting, quilting, singing and camping.

She is survived by her husband Roland of 65 years. She has three children: Steven Barr and Diane of Charles City, Glenda Morgan and Richard, of Merrillville, Ind. and Terri and Chuck Bidelman of Battle Creek, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by their son David, grandson Chris Thurow and granddaughter Jamie Barr Fox, three brothers Walter, Wayne, and Darrell and twin sister Jannette Howe.
