Charles City, Iowa — Ronald “Ron” Fiser, 62, of Charles City, died Thursday, July 25, 2013, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Service Date: Wednesday, July 31, 2013 2:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church

Ronald "Ron" Fiser, 62, of Charles City, died Thursday, July 25, 2013, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A funeral Mass for Ron Fiser will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Reverend Carl Ries will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

Friends may call at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in the Social Hall from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday where there will be a Scriptural Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the service.

Ronald "Ron" Burt Fiser was born September 12, 1950, in Charles City, the son of Lloyd and Patricia (Olson) Fiser. He received his education in Charles City, graduating from Charles City High School in 1968. He then attended Mankato State College where he was on the wrestling team and received a Bachelor's Degree in 1973.

On January 3, 1970, Ron was united in marriage to Charlotte Kral. The couple made their home in Charles City where they raised their family. Ron was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. In 1973, Ron went to work for Oliver Corp. as a designer. When the plant closed he worked at Webster City Products, GMT Corp., and Winnebago Industries as a manufacturing engineer.

He retired on February 28, 2013 from TDS Automation where he was employed as a Project Manager. Ron was the 9th grade wrestling coach for several years at Charles City High School and loved coaching and working with the boys' baseball and girls' softball teams. He had a special fondness for the Cougar traveling baseball team and was the President of the Charles City Boys' Little League for many years.

Ron served as a member of the Park Board, was an avid golfer and bowler. He served as Secretary of the Charles City Men's Bowling Association and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2010. Family was very important to Ron. He enjoyed traveling to watch his children and grandchildren participate in sports and other activities. Ron loved big family gatherings.

Living family members include his wife of 43 years, Charlotte of Charles City; five children: Laura (Jerry) Mitchell of Charles City, Brian (Jackie) Fiser of Bondurant, Crystal (Andy) Swarbrick of Rosemount, Minn., Ryan (Holly) Fiser of Mason City and Ashley (Caleb) Gabel of Cedar Falls; 12 grandchildren: Tyler, Zach, Drew and Sarah Mitchell of Charles City; Chase, Connor and Coby Fiser of Bondurant; Dylan and Landon Swarbrick of Rosemount, Minn.; and Gwen, Avery and Miller Fiser of Mason City; sister, Linda (Gerald) Schmitt of Rockford; along with numerous aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
