Vern Arthur Castle – April 29, 1905 – December 1962

VERN A CASTLE DIES AT ROCKFORD; RITES PENDING

Rockford – Vern Arthur Castle, 57, died Friday evening here. He had been in ill health the last seven years.

Funeral services are set tentatively for Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Rockford Methodist Church. The Rev. George Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery with Weaver Funeral Home in charge.

Born April 29, 1905, he was the son of Orange and Lilly Brockett Castle. He worked at the Rockford Brick and Tile Company until retiring because of ill health.

Surviving are his wife, Marion; four children; Mrs. Art Nicholson, Rockford; Vern Jr., Waverly; Fred, Charles City; Jane Ann, California; three brothers and a half-brother.
