CHARLES CITY-- Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hauser funeral home for Carl Handt, 89, a resident of the Stratton Rest home for the past three years, who died Thursday at the Cedar Valley hospital, where he had been receiving treatment for the past eight days; burial in Evergreen cemetery near Rudd; three daughters survive, Mrs. Edna Grill, Independence; Mrs. Loyal Gitch, Oelwein, and Mrs. Esther Schnormeler, Hubbard; a son, William Handt, died Dec 30, 1955.
