ROBERT F THATCHER

Robert F. Thatcher, 79, of 822 W. 5th St., died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday at his home of a heart-ailment. He had been ill for the past 14 months.

He was born Sept. 26, 1882, in Cashocton county, Ohio, the son of Marcus and Xantippa Robison [Thatcher]. He married Lucy Graham on Sept. 28, 1904, in Rudd township of Floyd county. After their marriage they lived in Floyd county and came to Waterloo in 1928. He was self employed as a rug cleaner and a painter and retired about a year ago. Mr. Thatcher was a member of First Methodist church of Waterloo.

Surviving are his widow; one son, Henry of Charles City; two daughters, Miss Buelah Thatcher, 525 Pleasant St.; Mrs. Earl Fay of Minneapolis, Minn.; one sister, Mrs. Harry Miller of Houston, Tex.; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, three sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Parrott and Wood funeral home. Dr. Floyd Hinshaw, pastor of First Methodist church, will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Evergreen cemetery, Rudd, Ia.
