CONDUCT RITES FOR WITZEL, 59

Resident of Rudd Vicinity Succumbs; Victim of Leukemia

RUDD-- Funeral services were help Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the house for William F. Witzel, 59, with the Rev. Will Kirwin of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Rudd, in charge.

Paul Stalker sang with Mrs. I.W. Edie at accompanist. Pallbearers were nephews, Lyle, Howard and Stanley Witzel. Elgin and Harold Robeson and Loyal Sellon. Burial was in the Rudd cemetery.

He died Tuesday in a hospital in Charles City of Leukemia.

He followed the carpenter trade for a number of years and later helped his brother on the farm.

He was a member of the First Methodist church and while living in Ulster township he was a worker in the Sunday school and church.

He leaves five sisters and four brothers, Lena Sergeant, Ella and Ed Witzel of Rudd, Clara Robeson and J.M. Witzel of Charles City, Minnie Sellon of Nora Springs, Elmer of Floyd, Wilbur H. of Rockford and Calia Miller of Grand Rapids, Mich.
