Daniel Nash, 64, of Charles City, died Monday, May 20, 2013, at his home.

Funeral services for Daniel Nash will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Hauser Funeral Home. Youth Pastor Zach Fox of the Gospel Lighthouse will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens rural Charles City. Military honors will be conducted by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit. Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday an hour prior to the service.

Daniel Lynn Nash was born August 20, 1948, at Charles City, the son of Merle and Lola (Lines) Nash. He grew up on a farm near Marble Rock and graduated from Rockford High School. Daniel served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, spending much of his time in Germany. On June 7, 1972, he was united in marriage to Sharon Rench at Cambridge. Daniel worked for many years at Fontanelle Hybrids, formerly Sar Hybrids. As the result of a car accident in 2002 he retired. Daniel enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He especially looked forward to the extra time spent with his grandson Nathan.

Living family members include three children, Shelly Nash, Ryan (Amanda) Nash and Garrett Nash all of Charles City; three grandchildren, Ryne Robel, Nathan Nash and Leo Nash with another on the way; and two sisters Miriam Nash of Des Moines and Gloria (Ray) Willer of Aloha, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife on December 16, 2000; and four brothers.
