William H. Stonecypher

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 26, 1986 at Grace United Methodist Church in Floyd for William H. Stonecypher, 84, of Charles City, Iowa. Mr. Stonecypher died on Wednesday, July 23, 1986 in a care center in Charles City.

Mr. Stonecypher was born on September 11, 1901 in Buffalo Cetner, Iowa, to Edward and Mary (Brookings) Stonecypher. He received his education in Buffalo Center schools, then moved to the Floyd area in 1919.

He and Belma Quinby were united in marriage on February 12, 1930 in Charles City. They farmed northwest of Floyd until 1979 when he retired and moved to Charles City.

He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, the Farm Bureau, 60 Plus, and was a former member of the YMCA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter; a brother; a half-brother; and a half-sister.

Survivors include his wife, Belma of Charles City; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Diane) Ramker of Greene, Iowa; two sons, LeRoy and Clair, both of Floyd; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Levena) Thomas of Decatur, Illinois, and a brother, Theodore Stonecypher of Osage, Iowa.
