Elmer William Graeser – October 19, 1909 – December 2, 2006

PLAINFIELD - Elmer W. Graeser, 97, of Plainfield, died Saturday, Dec. 2, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, Waverly.

He was born Oct. 19, 1909, in Butler County near Nashua, son of Henry W. and Elsia Miller Graeser. He married Rosie Carolyn Ellerman, and she preceded him in death.
Mr. Graeser farmed north of Plainfield for many years.

Survivors include: a son, Lavern of Plainfield; a daughter, Cloris (Art) Mehmen of Plainfield; nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Merle (Violet) of Plainfield and Leonard (Shirley) of Waverly; and four sisters, Helen Lillich of Waterloo, Florence Roberts of Batesville, Ark., and Margaret (Vern) Jensen and Jeanette (Roger) White, both of Waverly.
Preceded in death by: a brother, Gil; and a sister, Laura Powell.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Plainfield Methodist Church, Plainfield, with burial in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, Nashua.
