IN CEDAR RIVERPHILLIP THOMSEN VICTIM;
PLAYING WITH TOY BOATSBody is Recovered by Firemen;
Leaves Parents, Four Sisters and BrothersCHARLES CITY, IOWA - Phillip Thomsen, 10-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thomsen, Charles City, drowned in the Cedar River, when he fell in near the Beauty Dam Monday afternoon.
His father is a pharmacist at the A. B. C. Dodd Drug Store here.
It was understood that the last was playing with toy boats when he fell into the river.
The body was recovered after about 40 minutes by firemen.
Besides his parents Phillip is survived by two brothers. Lt. Frank L. Thomsen, Seattle, Washington; Richard, Charles City, and two sisters, Jeannette and Mrs. Vivian Walters, San Francisco, California.
The Thomsen family came here four years ago from Audubon.

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church for Phillip Allen Thomsen, 10-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank D. Thomsen, who drowned in the Cedar River, near the Beauty Dam, Monday when he fell from a wall into the water while playing with a toy boat he had made; burial in Riverside Cemetery. Phillip was a member of the Lutheran choir.
