Fern Elizabeth (Blum) Parcher – December 19, 1913 – April 15, 1961

MRS. PHILLIP PARCHER DIES AT MARBLE ROCK

Charles City – Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Marble Rock Methodist church for Mrs. Phillip (Fern) Parcher, 47. The Rev. E. G. Steinman will officiate. Burial will be in West Side Cemetery, Marble Rock, with Grossmann-Hage Funeral Home, Charles City, in charge. A prayer service will be held at the family home at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. Parcher died at her farm home Saturday of Sclerosis. She had been ill since the fall of 1955.

Born December 19, 1913, the daughter of Conrad and Viola (Marchant) Blum. She was educated in Floyd County rural schools and Rockford. On February 14, 1932, she was married to Phillip Parcher, Marble Rock. The Parchers had lived in Marble Rock the past 25 years. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge at Marble Rock, and the Women of the Moose at Charles City.

Surviving are her husband, three sons, Earl, Marble Rock; Jerry and Dale, at home; two daughters; Mrs. Russell Staudt, Marble Rock; and Mrs. Gerald Hershey, Hazelton; and her father, Marble Rock; and three brothers; Lloyd Blum, Greene; Lester Blum, Marble Rock and Phillip Blum, Rockford. She was preceded in death by her mother, a brother, a sister, her stepmother and three grandchildren.
