MATHIAS FRASCHT RITES HELD MONDAY

Mathias Frascht, 83, passed away on Thursday evening at 6:00 o’clock at his farm home located northeast of Greene.

He was born in Luxenburg, Germany, the son of Bernard and Anna Frascht on June 10, 1874. He came to Iowa when a small boy and at the age of 5 resided in Floyd county, which has since been his home. He lived in the same vicinity in Floyd County for 71 years.

Survivors include 7 children; Leo Frascht; Joseph Frascht; and Mrs. Clarence Kay of Greene; Bernard Frascht of Nashua; Mrs. Chris Schrage of Little Cedar; Louis Frascht of Charles City; and James Frascht, at home. Also 27 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 1 brother; Chris Frascht of Charles City; and 2 sisters; Miss Mary Frascht of Greene; and Sister Magdaline of St. Louis, Missouri.

Those preceding him in death were his wife on October 28, 1955, and a half-sister; Mrs. Ann Kiefer.

Funeral services were held on Monday morning at 10:00 o’clock at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. P. J. Boyle officiating. Burial was held in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Hamilton’s Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
