MRS. WETHERBEE BURIED MONDAY
AGED WOMAN DIES AFTER STROKE; BORN AT NASHUACharles city – funeral services were to be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock for Mrs. Jennie Wetherbee, 76, widow of Mark Wetherbee, who died Saturday at the Cedar Valley Hospital her, where she was taken 2 weeks ago, after suffering a stroke.
Services were at the Hauser Funeral Home, with the Rev. H. M. Grant of the First Methodist church officiating, and interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
Jennie Olds was born November 6, 1867, at Nashua, a daughter of Leamon A. and Sydney (Taylor) Olds, and has been a resident of this vicinity all her life. On April 27, 1895, she was married to Mark Wetherbee and to this union, 2 children were born. One daughter, Sydney, died in 1920 and her husband, Mark Wetherbee, died in 1939.
The surviving daughter, Mrs. Katherine Couse, resides in Charles City, and one granddaughter, Genevieve Couse. Other relatives are Horace and Russell Olds, nephews, and Fred Powell, a cousin.

Note* According to a birth record for their daughter Sydney mentioned in the above obit, her mother’s full name was Bertha Jane Olds…she went by the nickname “Jennie” apparently.
