C. A. WINTERINK DIES AFTER A SHORT ILLNESS

Chester A. Winterink passed away Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the age of eighty years at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A.J. Morean, following a several days illness from obstruction of the bowels, an autopsy following his death verifying the diagnosis.

Funeral services will take place Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Morean home in charge of Elmer Lindaman with the Reverend G.A. Hess officiating and interment in Riverside Cemetery.

Deceased was a resident of Floyd county for seventy-six years, having been born in Belvidere, Illinois, November 4, 1850 and came to this county in 1854 where he was married April 4, 1871 to Ella Albee and twin daughters were born to this union, Zinnie dying at the age of 11 months and Mildred, now Mrs. Morean being the only living daughter. Mr. Winterink had five bothers and three sisters and of these only one brother and one sister survive him, Minus B. Winterink of this city and Mrs. Fred Bunker of Cedar Rapids.

During most of Mr. Winterink's active business life in this city, he was an importer of fancy horses and in this line of work he made twenty-two trips to Europe.

He owned two business buildings here, one at the corner of Wisconsin and East Clark streets, occupied as a garage building and the other on Riverside Drive in which is located the Hosper Paint Shop and the Rohner-Marsh Implement company.
