Gladys Starbuck, 71, of 1750 220th Street, died on Monday, December 7, 1992, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City, Iowa. Funeral services were held on Friday morning at the Rudd United Methodist Church, with Rev. M. Reth officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Rudd, Iowa. Sheckler Colonial Chapel of Nora Springs was in charge of arrangements.

Gladys Starbuck was born on March 4, 1921, in Osceola, Iowa, the daughter of Paul Burham and Faith (Bivens) Heino. She was married to Donald Starbuck on August 18, 1940.

Gladys grew up in Osceola and then moved to Ames, and attended high school there. In past years she was very active in the Floyd and Rudd UMW organization. She loved being with her family. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, playing cards, fishing and playing bingo. She was a member of the Rudd United Methodist Church, and a member of the Women of the Moose, Charles City.

Survivors include her husband, Donald of Rudd; one son, David, also of Rudd; three daughters: Meredith Jones and husband Gary, of Minneapolis; Faith Starbuck of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; and Donna Ernst and husband Joel of Mason City. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren,one sister, Virginia Wiley of Richmond, California, and one aunt, Maxine Story of Iowa City.

Mrs. Starbuck was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Vic Heino, and one sister.
