Florence I. Walker, 86, Nora Springs, died on Wednesday, December 8, 1993 at home.

Funeral services were held on Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Nora Springs, with Rev. R. Pippert officiating. Burial was in Park Cemetery.

Florence Walker was born on December 28, 1906, in Montevideo, Minnesota, the daughter of William and Bertha (Peet) Prehm. She and her family later moved to Brownsdale, Minnesota. She graduated from high school in Austin, Minnesota, and took normal training for teaching in Austin.

She married Clair Walker on June 15, 1928, in Brownsdale, Minnesota, and lived west of Brownsdale. Later the family moved to Dexter, Minnesota, where they lived until moving to Nora Springs. She taught in the Rudd school system from 1852 to 1970. For the next 20 years she wintered in Texas.

Survivors include two sons, Dean Walker and his wife, Marge, of Marble Rock, and Darrel Walker and his wife, Wanda, of Nora Springs; one daughter, Kay Elsbury and her husband, James, of Nora Springs; one sister, Gladys Steward, Brownsdale, Minnesota; and 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clair; one grandson, Michael Walker; two sisters; and one brother.
