A former Rockford resident and R.S.H. graduate, Guy Eliot Wilbern, 80, died in the hospital at The Dalles, Oregon on April 27, 1993. Services were held on May 1, 1993, at the Parklawn Memorial Garden Cemetery in The Dalles. Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclorosis Society in care of Smith Callaway Chapel, The Dalles, Oregon.

Guy Wilbern was born on August 26, 1912 in Rockford, Iowa, to Amos W. and Caroline (White) Wilbern.

He moved to The Dalles in 1969 from State Center, Iowa, and together with his son, Donald, purchased and operated Ted Walker Cleaners. He began his dry cleaning career in Indianola, Iowa, in 1936, and retired from the family owned business in 1980.

He was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church and was a member of the Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife, Lorna, and a son, Donald, both of The Dalles; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a brother, James Wilbern of Florida. A daughter, Carolyn died in 1978.
