BURIAL AT ROCKFORD

Helen M. Walker, 93, of Clear Lake, Iowa, died on Saturday, March 19, 1994 at the Americana Nursing Home.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 1994 at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. F. Lewis.

Visitation will be Wednesday at Fullerton Patterson James Funeral Chapel, in Mason City. Graveside services will be on Thursday at the Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, Iowa.

Helen was born on October 17, 1900 in New Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of H.S. and Harriet (Biglow) Goodall. She graduated from the Rockford High School and then attended college in Ames for two years. She graduated with honors from the Univ. of Minnesota. Her degree was in home economics. She was also member of the Omicron-N-U-Sorority.

Helen was united in marriage to Max Walker on June 1, 1923 in Clear Lake. She and Max lived in Rockford where she was a substitute teacher in the school system. They moved to Clear Lake in 1956 where she has been a resident ever since. Following her husband's death in 1961 she taught piano for 12 years.

She was a life long teacher of Sunday School and Bible studies. She was a very active member of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, was a church choir member, and a past president and 70 year member of the P.E.O., a past matron and member of the Eastern Star, and a former member of the Republican Women.

Helen is survived by one son, Chuck Walker, Spearfish, South Dakota; two granddaughters, Kathy Hymers, Chaska, Minnesota; Mrs. Kelvin (Karen) Elliot of Farmington, New Mexico; and by two great-grandsons, Gabriel and Daniel Hymers.
