Glen "Pudge" Springer, 70, of Lansing, formerly of Charles City and Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, July18, 2012, at his home.

A Memorial Mass for Glen Springer will be held 12:30 p.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Monsignor Stanley Hayek and Reverend John Moser will celebrate the Mass. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Friends may join the family in a celebration of Glen's life at The Pub On The Cedar from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Glen Charles Springer was born July 6, 1942, at Charles City, the son of Glen and Irene (Ellis) Springer. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1960. Glen served in the National Guard and Army Reserve from 1959 to 1967. On June 6, 1964, he was united in marriage to Nancy Zimmerman. Over the years he worked for Oliver/White Farm Equipment Company in Charles City, Koehring Crane in Waverly, Lockwood Corporation in Gering, Nebraska, and retired as President of Viking Pump in Cedar Falls in 2001.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Nebraska Rotary Club, Elks Lodge and Friends of Pool 9. Glen was an avid outdoorsman enjoying various activities, including turkey hunting, fishing for walleyes and bow hunting for deer.

Living family members include his wife, Nancy of Lansing; two daughters, Robin (Kevin) McGlynn of Solon and Wendi (Randy) Huck of Bayard, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Becca and Ben Hoy, and Cassandra, Chelby and Cammie Huck.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Betty Rath, Norma Kobliska and Joan Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
