Priscilla (Jackson) Carrott – March 1822-March 1896

CARROTT: At her home west of this place on March 13th, Mrs. Wm. Carrott aged 74 years.

Priscilla Jackson was born in Guernsey County, Ohio, March 1822, moving with her family to Illinois in 1839. At the age of 22 she was married to Charles Hammer, by whom she had three sons.

After the death of her husband, she was married a second time to William Carrott and moved to Owen's Grove in 1864 and from there to their present home in Owen township, where she died.

Six sons and two daughters, with her husband, survive her. She had been a most faithful and loving wife and mother and lived a long life devoted to ministering to the happiness and welfare of her family and friends.

The funeral exercises were held at her late home on Saturday and were conducted by Rev. Grant, pastor of the Baptist Church, the interment being in the cemetery at this place.
