JAMES NEWLING

Charles City – James Newling, 90, former Charles City resident, died Wednesday in Austin, Minnesota. Funeral services were held Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Lyle, Minnesota.
Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

Survivors include his sons; Harry Jordan, Lyle, Minnesota; and Clare Newling, Minneapolis Minnesota and three daughters; Mrs. Irving Weber, Lyle, Minnesota; Mrs. Fred Tottenham and Mrs. Daisy Zable, both of Austin, Minnesota.

James Newling was born June 9, 1873 in Floyd County, Iowa, the son of Henry Newling and Lydia Anne (Wiltse) Newling. He married Margaret Elnora (Barry) Jordan, the widow of Calvin Jordan.

He died July 31, 1963 in Austin, Minnesota (birth and death dates from Minnesota death record).

He was buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Charles City, Floyd Co., Iowa
