Alma Julia (Howe) Oulman – September 20, 1893 – August 5, 1960

MRS. OULMAN RITES SET FOR MONDAY

Clear Lake – Mrs. Alma Oulman, 66, died suddenly Friday afternoon at her home, 117 5th Ave. N, Clear Lake.

She was born September 20, 1893, at Nora Springs, a daughter of Herman and Anna Gildner Howe. Previous to her marriage, she taught in the rural schools in the Nora Springs area.

For the last 20 years, Mrs. Oulman has lived in Mason City and Clear Lake, operating a cottage rental service in Clear Lake.

She is survived by two sons, Richard H. and Gene, both of Clear Lake; a brother, Walter Howe, and a sister, Mrs. Oscar Jewell, both of Mason City, and a sister, Marge Pacey, Clear Lake. Five grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Wayside Chapel of the First Methodist Church, Mason City, with Dr. George Truman Carl officiating. Burial will be in Nora Springs Cemetery.

The family requests that any memorials be given to the First Methodist Church, Mason City. The Ward Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Alma Howe married Nathan Raymond Oulman, and they had two sons; Richard Nathan Oulman 1921-2004 and Eugene Herman Oulman 1922- 2006

Alma was buried in the Park Cemetery, Nora Springs, Floyd county, Iowa. She and Nathan Oulman were divorced and he remarried. He is buried in the Liberty Cemetery, Mitchell Co., Iowa with his 2nd wife.
