CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Christopher Steinert, 37, of Charles City, died Monday, April 23, 2012, at his parents' home in Charles City.

A memorial Mass will be held 5 p.m. Friday, April 27, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Charles City. The Rev. Carl Ries will celebrate the Mass. Friends may greet the family from 3-5 p.m. Friday at the church prior to the Mass. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Christopher Terrence Steinert was born March 20, 1975, in Port Washington, Wis., the son of Terry and Marge (May) Steinert. He graduated from Port Washington High School in 1993. Chris's parents moved to Charles City and he soon followed. He was a trained master electrician and was employed by Johnson Control working at the Pfizer Animal Health in Charles City. He lived life to the fullest, whether it was skydiving, fishing, four-wheeling, hunting or biking. Chris was very close with his cousins Barry, Jana, Travis, and Laura, and he will be missed by all.

Living family members include his parents, Terry (Marge) Steinert; two brothers, Kevin and Andy Steinert, both of Charles City; aunts and uncles, Bill (Diane) May of Belgium, Wisconsin, Renee (Ken) Wall of Port Washington, Wisconsin, Mike (Phil Gratsy) May of Palm Coast, Florida, Willie (Judy) Steinert of Grafton, Wisconsin.

Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dick (Regina) May, Wilbur (Dorothy) Steinert; an uncle, Peter May; and a first cousin, Joel Steinert.

Memorials may be directed to the family or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in memory of Chris at www.CFF.org.
