Funeral services were held Saturday, August 11, 1984, in Charles City, Iowa, for Harry "Doc" Field, 74, of Harpers Ferry, and formerly of Floyd, Iowa, who died Thursday, August 9, 1984 at a LaCrosse, Wisconsin, hopital. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery, Floyd, with the Rev. Charlotte Mallott of Grace United Methodist Church, Floyd, officiating.
Mr. Field was born on July 24, 1910 in Toluco, Illinois, to Norman and Hallie (Hall) Field. He was educated in the Floyd and Rudd schools and married Eunice Stewart on February 19, 1934 in St. Paul, Minnesota. They farmed in the Floyd area for 32 years before moving to Harpers Ferry 17 years ago. He was the owner of Doc's Dock in Harpers Ferry.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice, Harpers Ferry; three daughters: Mrs. Deryl (Patricia) Swedberg, Lancaster, Missouri; Mrs. Robert (Judith) Schilling, Cedar Falls, and Mrs. Ronald (Virginia) Shipman, Rudd; three sons: Roger, Charles City; Kenneth, Nora Springs, and Edward, Floyd; 24 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several stepchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Jack (Alta) Clanin, Toluca, Illinois; Mrs. Vera Koepke, Santa Clara, Calif., and Mrs. Mario (Marlys) Rinaldi, Cupertino, California; six brothers: Mike, Lowell, Mass.; Jack, Rockford; Roy, Crosslake, Minn.; Henry, Santa Cruz, Calif.; Jerry, Riverside, Calif.; and Bert, Rudd.
