Abigail C. "Connie" Janssen, 90, and formerly of Rockford, Iowa, died on Thursday, October 20, 1994, in Rush City, Minnesota. Burial was to be in the Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

Abigail Constance "Connie" Briggs was born on April, 20, 1904, in Rockford, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Anne Briggs. She spent most of her life on the farm, attended coutnry school, and graduated from Rockford High School. Because her parents died when she was 10 and 11, she was raised by her aunt.

In September of 1924, Connie married Albert Janssen, in Waterloo. They farmed in and around Charles City until 1952, when they purchased a farm in Rush City, Minnesota. That was their home until Albert died on July 20, 1980. Since her husband's death, she continued to live in Rush City in the Rush Estates Homes, and, for the past four yeawrs, in the Hillcrest Health Care Center.

Living family members include three children and their spouses: Carol and Dale Banks, Helen and John Kirchberg, and Larry and Donna Janssen; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandcildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; an infant son, who died at birth' a daughter-in-law, Mary Jane; one sister; and three brothers.
