Irene S. Bean, 73, of North Cedar Terrace, Charles City, Iowa, died on Tuesday, November 1, 1994, at the Riverside Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City, following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held on Friday morning at the Fullerton Hage Funeral Home in Charles City, with Bruce Collins and Russell Nesbit officiating. Burial was in the Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City.

Mrs. Bean, the former Irene Sophie Ferch, was born on July 23 1921, in rural Floyd County, the daughter of Ernest and Minnie (Schmidt) Ferch. On January 26, 1942 she was married to Russell Andy Bean in Princeton, Missouri.

The Beans had eight children, including Rose Justus and her husband, Brad, of Rudd. There are two sisters, 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and by eight brothers.
